Another agreement is concluded between the University of Gdańsk and Gdańsk University of Technology

The University of Gdańsk and Gdańsk University of Technology have concluded a new agreement. In this case the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the University of Gdańsk and the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Informatics of Gdańsk University of Technology officially declared their willingness to cooperate with each other.

The agreement was concluded on the 26th January 2016 and signed by the Deans of both Faculties – prof. dr hab. Piotr Bojarski (the University of Gdańsk) and prof. dr hab. inż. Krzysztof Goczyła (Gdańsk University of Technology).

Dr inż Jacek Lebiedź from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Informatics of Gdańsk University of Technology and dr Piotr Arłukowicz from the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the University of Gdańsk are the initiators of the cooperation.

Dr Lebiedź is the head of the Laboratory of Immersed Spatial Visualisation, opened a year ago at Gdańsk University of Technology, which, in accordance with its name, makes it possible for one to become deeply immersed in virtual reality. Dr Arłukowicz is the creator of the Polish Blender Course and one of the two Polish certified trainers of this environment, used to model, visualise and animate three-dimensional scenes (Blender Foundation Certified Trainer). The cooperation of the Faculties will start with giving a student from the University of Gdańsk access to the resources of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunication and Informatics at Gdańsk University of Technology for the purposes of writing the master's thesis titled: “Visualisation system based on Blender in virtual reality cave environment”, where Dr Arłukowicz is the tutor and dr Lebiedź plays the role of a consultant.

The adaptation of Blender to virtual reality cave located in the Laboratory of Immersed Spatial Visualisation is planned within the cooperation between the Faculties.
