FMPI's Quantum Summer School - another partnership with Kainos Group!

contract signing

We are very happy and proud to announce that the international initiatives of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the University of Gdańsk are once again gaining invaluable financial support from Kainos Group! Sponsored events include the organization of a summer school and a business and technology conference. Their main goal is to promote knowledge about quantum technologies, as well as their theoretical foundations, potential practical applications and impact on social life. The agreement between the company's representatives and the Rector of the University of Gdańsk - prof. dr hab. Piotr Stepnowski - was signed on Monday, March 24th.

Mutual benefits are, of course, expected in the continuation of this cooperation. Thanks to the support of a foreign company, the University of Gdańsk gains another opportunity to promote their brand as a renowned center for quantum technology research. The cooperation with a large entity known on the IT market in Europe is itself highly valuable for the University of Gdańsk. It is also a chance to expand the network of contacts on the British market. Our partner - Kainos - can be assured to gain a significant academic partner in Poland, well-versed in the quantum technology market.

Quantum Summer School "Q-Camp"

This is an undertaking intended for students from all over the world. The learning program covers a wide range of topics related to quantum technologies: computation, encryption, communication... Classes - in English - will be conducted at both basic (for first-cycle students) and advanced (for second-cycle students and PhD students). Lecturers will include experts from the International Center for the Theory of Quantum Technologies and the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics, as well as invited guests from foreign institutions (including Ulster University in Belfast, where Kainos is headquartered).

Business and Technology Conference "Q-Con"

The event is planned as an opportunity for a joint meeting of scientists and business people, as well as representatives of public administration. The conference is to encourage discussion on topics related to quantum technologies, including: directions of development not only of quantum technologies, but also other equally innovative technologies; the forecasted impact of the aforementioned technologies on society; related business prospects; the role of public administration in stimulating scientific development, including the development and implementation of new technologies.

This year's agreement is a continuation of cooperation between the University of Gdańsk and Kainos, which was initiated in 2024. Sponsored events will be organized at the turn of August and September this year.
