FMPI's employees on Project COVER's workshops

On April 7-11, 2025, Dr. Eng. Magda Dettlaff, Dr. Hanna Furmańczyk and Dr. Hab. Paweł Żyliński, prof. UG from the Department of Combinatorial Optimization (Institute of Informatics) of the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the University of Gdańsk participated in the COVER project workshops at the Gebze Technical University in Turkey.

The project COVER - "Combinatorial Optimization for Versatile Applications to Emerging Urban Problems" - funded by the MSCA-SE program, is an initiative brings together experts from academia and industry to exchange and expand expertise on interdisciplinary approaches in urbanization-related issues and smart cities.

During the workshops, participants exchanged information on identified local problems and then created research groups focused on further work on the issues raised, including the development of action plans for each group. Topics discussed included bike and scooter rentals, waste collection, energy and transport issues, city management after disasters, and much more.

The event was attended by project participants from all universities in the COVER project consortium.
