Seminar of dr. Anatoliy Tatarets | July 4th
We kindly invite you
to a seminar of
dr Anatoliy Tatarets
(“Institute for Single Crystals” of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine),
which will take place on
July 4th (Friday) at 1230 AM, in auditorium D003.
Title of the seminar:
Design and Application of Organic Luminophores and Dyes in Biomedicine
Abstract:
Biomedical applications of dyes include diagnostics, which rely on the fluorescence properties of the dye; photodynamic therapy, which utilizes the dye's ability to generate singlet oxygen and other cytotoxic species upon light irradiation; and theranostics, which integrates both diagnostic and therapeutic capabilities into a single dye system. Novel fluorescence-based materials have been developed for applications in biological, pharmaceutical, and biomedical research, as well as clinical diagnostics. These include: labels for covalent attachment to biomolecules such as proteins, amino acids, peptides, oligonucleotides, DNA, RNA, and drugs; probes that recognize biomolecules through non-covalent interactions; probes and labels suitable for fluorescence lifetime (FLT)-based and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) applications; and classification dyes for single or multiplex encoding of microspheres used in high-throughput screening (HTS). Particular attention will be paid to the application of long-wavelength polymethine dyes for photodynamic therapy and theranostics.
